Remote Pilot 107 Ground School Program
Course Description_Phase One (Instructor led hands-on course)
This portion of the 12 hour Ground School course is focused on preparing students to take their FAA Part 107 Exam in order to support the Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) requirements. RP_107 course will focus on contents covered in the Part 107 exam (outlined below) and will emphasize content areas that are less intuitive and can be difficult to understand without instructional support. Best practices, tips, and lessons learned in terms of preparation for the 107 exam will be covered. Students should plan on taking their 107 Exam within 4-6 weeks of the course. Please note that completion of this course does not guarantee that a participant will successfully pass their 107 exam.
Topics Include
The RP_107 course covers the 12 knowledge areas that are require for Part 107 exam, including *UAS regulations,*airspace classification, *weather issues and concerns, *UAS weight and loading, *emergency procedures, *crew resource management, *radio communications management, *determining the performance of small UAS, *physiological effects of drugs and alcohol, *decision-making and judgment, *airport operations, and
*maintenance and pre-flight inspection procedures.
SDA Simulator and Real Time flight training Requirements
Students are required to fly 8 hrs SDA professional simulators program in manual mode to gasp the concept of flying without causing damage or harm to others while gaining confidence in the navigation control and the UAV.
Real Time Flight Training - Tello
Students will sign-out a Tello (Drone) with a remote controller and a IPAD Mini 4 (after the course fee is paid) to practice 30 hours manual mode indoor flying under SDA guidelines. At the end of the training, the student will be familiarized with maneuvering a quad-copter UAS platform.
On-Site Real Time Flight Training Exam
Each student must demonstrate they can fly the Tello (Drone) using a remote controller through SDA obstacle course without hitting any of the obstacles and must perform this task three times in a row.
SDA UAS/Drone Maintenance, Repair and Build
This 8 hour Training course provides the knowledge and ability to maintain, repair, and build the UAV/Drone to complete the mission.
In this one-day training course students will learn about
*UAS Platforms-fixed wing and multi rotor *UAS Components-flight controls, powerplant components, RC control components, flight controller, compass, IMU and more *Preventative Maintenance items-fasteners,props,expected lifespans and more *Determining Airworthiness *Common Wear Components *Common Diagnostic and Repair Procedures *Firmware Updates *UAS Health Checks *Compass Calibration *IMU Calibration *Common Manufacturer Components Error Messages and Corrections *Understanding No Fly Zone Geo-Fencing (airspace blocks) *Post Repair Test Flight Procedure's *Intro to Precision Tuning Rates/PID's *Disassembly

Audience
This course is intended for individuals who are preparing for a career working with Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS). Students should commit to taking their 107 Exam within 4-6 weeks of taking this course.
Registration Process
All student registrations will be reviewed by the SDA with approvals sent to students NO LATER THAN 2 weeks prior to the start of the class. Registration does not guarantee a seat in the class. Enrollment is based on a first come first served. If you are accepted into this course, you will receive a confirmation email from SDA.

**Student will be issued a hand receipt to sign out a Tello training system to meet real time flight requirements and obstacle course exam.
($600.00 deposit require when signing out Tello training equipment)
